Special Notice
Regarding Changes in Own-Choice Repertoire
Rule 13 clearly states that movements must be specified on the entry form, and that any changes will be considered non-competitive.
To clarify this rule:
• Any additions, deletions or substitutions to your originally declared repertoire will result in your entry being deemed non-competitive, in which case you will receive an adjudication, but no mark, and your participation in the class will not count toward a scholarship or eligibility for Provincials.
• In the case of a concerted work, song cycle, etc., the movements, songs or sections of a work which you intend to perform must be clearly declared on your entry form, by number or by name.
• If movements, etc., are not clearly declared, the entry form will be considered incomplete and it will be returned to the competitor.
• This rule applies to all disciplines, and in fairness to all participants it will be vigorously enforced.
• Please consider your selections carefully, before you fill out the entry forms!
• Please double-check your selections against the requirements listed in the syllabus, for every class you enter.
Regarding Changes in Scheduling
• If there are legitimate scheduling concerns, such as University exams or important artistic conflicts, we will do our best to reschedule performers. It is often not possible to reschedule performers without their entry being declared non-competitive, but we will still do our best to find a space for you to perform and receive an adjudication.
• If you have a serious scheduling difficulty, please email the Festival at kmf@magma.ca outlining your conflict and telling us what you have done to resolve the problem. Please do this as far in advance as possible, not the day before your class is to be held.
• If you must withdraw from a class, please notify us by email as soon as possible at kmf@magma.ca and let us know the date, time and number of your class.
