Le fou du roi (The King's Jester)

A new French musical comedy with songs in diverse styles from the
military march to up-tempo swing.  Set in medieval times, it is the story of Giacomo, the king's jester, and his unrequited love,
the princess of the kingdom of hearts.

The cast is from
Le prélude elementary school in Orleans grades 4, 5 & 6

CBC is proud to offer this $2000 Award
to be used for the advancement of
music education in schools.

This bi-annual award will be
presented in a special CBC Class
during the Festival, on
Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 7 PM.
Lisgar High School Auditorium


The award will be presented to a
school based, conductor-led ensemble
of 8 or more persons in any discipline
i.e. Band, Choir, Orchestra.

Criteria

Will be awarded to an educational institution to be used for the advancement of music education within the School.

Participation is by invitation only and attendance is mandatory in order to be considered for this Award. A jury will select 4 to 6 participants to compete in this class.

To be invited to participate in this class the ensemble must be recommended by the adjudicator. One selection only will be played. Participants will be informed which selection has been recommended when they are notified of their selection.

The adjudication of this class is final and no redress will be considered.

The CBC Award will not be granted to the same educational institution consecutively

The successful ensemble will be notified at the conclusion of the CBC Invitational Class and the cheque will be presented at the Highlights Concert on May 16, 2008

The educational institution must report back to CBC, within a year, as to how they have used the funds within the music program at their School.


An audience may attend this class. A $5.00 entry fee will be charged for each audience member.
